The second edition of the Itzulia Basque Challenge has exceeded all expectations for participation and follow-up.
Today, April 7, one day after the completion of Itzulia, bike lovers had a date with cycle tourism. The 500 participants who started were able to enjoy an experience close to a World Tour race. Same route, same infrastructure and same services, everything to enjoy cycling.
The fifty participants were able to enjoy the surroundings and Gipuzkoa. Mythical mountain passes, hidden towns, roads between valleys and impossible ramps.
After completing the route, the participants crossed the finish line where Juan Ayuso managed to win the Itzulia 2024 the day before. Once they crossed the line, they received their Finisher medal for the race and went up to the podium to take the long-awaited photo.
To end the great weekend of cycling and cycle tourism, it could not be done any other way than with a pasta-party. Lots of laughter, good vibes and anecdotes filled Unzaga Square.
The second edition of the Itzulia Basque Challenge has been a great cycling party, first with the last stage of the Itzulia and then with the cycle tour. The Itzulia Basque Challenge takes a big step forward to establish itself in the cycling calendar.
